When support exists but employees still struggle to find it, the problem may not be resources. It may be navigation.
The Clarity Gap at Work
Over the past decade, organizations have made significant investments in workplace mental health support. Employee Assistance Programs, behavioral health coverage, digital wellbeing platforms, and resilience initiatives are now common components of employee benefits strategies.
Yet many employees still struggle to access the help available to them when they need it most.
This whitepaper explores what I describe as the Clarity Gap, the disconnect between the mental health support organizations provide and the support employees can realistically access when they are under stress. As pressure increases, cognitive capacity decreases while the complexity of workplace support systems increases, making it harder for employees to navigate available resources.
The Clarity Gap at Work examines why this gap emerges and why improving navigation, not just expanding resources, may be key to helping employees access the support organizations already provide.
